Engineering Leader / Tech Lead — Laravel & Node.js

M. MursaleenI’m an engineering leader who ships with agents.

For ten years I’ve built software where failure isn’t an option — asset platforms inside Saudi Arabia’s National Health Command Center (NHCC) during the pandemic, the operations dashboard for Eutelsat’s satellite ground estate, and hospital-system modules used by some of Germany’s largest clinics. Along the way I grew from leading five engineers in Dubai to directing eighty through their team leads today.

I’m equally at home in two worlds most engineers pick one of: senior depth in both PHP/Laravel and Node.js/TypeScript. And for the past year I’ve run the entire software lifecycle agentically — from product requirement document (PRD) to development, testing, deployment, and final delivery, with AI agents doing the building and me doing the directing. A one-year roadmap shipped in months. Regulated financial compliance shipped the same way.

If you’re deciding whether I can lead your engineering org or ship your product: everything below is the evidence, and every claim is sourced.

Islamabad → Dubai → Riyadh → Paris → orbit → everywhere

Three things
I stand on.

Scroll to go under

Leadership at scale.

Grew from leading 5 at Mazajnet to 25 direct reports at Ascend to ~80 engineers through team leads in a 120-person company at Tanbits, and 6 senior engineers at Eutelsat. Second-line management: I manage the team leads who manage the teams. I sit at the center point between technical and non-technical executives — product decisions, client handling, delivery, approvals, market and competitor research.

Dual-stack mastery.

Genuinely senior in both the Laravel/PHP and the Node.js/TypeScript ecosystems, each proven on national and enterprise-scale production systems. Most engineers are senior in one and conversational in the other.

AI-orchestrated delivery.

Not "uses AI tools." I operate a development system: PRD-first, an orchestrator pattern that spawns builder, reviewer and tester subagents, file-based durable state, AI-generated unit and Playwright suites at near-total, CI-enforced coverage, sustaining scores of merged PRs per week. Proven by compressing a roughly one-year roadmap into a few months.

Everything below
is the evidence.

Start with how I deliver ↓

02 / How I deliver

I don’t “use AI tools.”
I run an operating model built on them.

I don’t “use AI tools.” I run a development operating model built on them.

  1. 01

    PRD-first

AI-drafted, human-reviewed, detailed product requirement documents drive every build. Specs are the contract between me, the client, and the agents.

  2. 02

    Orchestrator pattern

A coordinating AI session spawns and manages sub-sessions with distinct roles: builders implementing features in parallel, reviewers validating builder output, testers. The orchestrator also manages the roadmap.

  3. 03

    File-based durable state

Context, decisions and the roadmap live in versioned files, not model memory. Compounding engineering that survives any single session and accumulates institutional knowledge across weeks of work. Sessions are disposable; the state is not.

  4. 04

    Validated output

AI-written unit tests and Playwright end-to-end tests maintain near-total, CI-enforced coverage. Velocity without quality drift.

  5. 05

    Full-lifecycle coverage

The pipeline runs the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC) agentically: PRDs → AI development → AI Playwright testing → AI continuous integration / continuous delivery (CI/CD) → user acceptance testing (UAT) → final delivery. Practiced daily for more than a year at Tanbits.

  6. 06

    Throughput

Scores of merged PRs per week, sustained, across accounts.

  7. 07

    Two proofs

Mortgage Automator: a roughly one-year roadmap shipped in a few months (speed). Primexis & Groupe Aplitec: full-lifecycle agentic delivery of regulated financial automation with a five-engineer team (completeness and compliance).

Two proofs

The evidence, including the counterweightsWhat the studies actually show. Specific figures, never a flat “10×”.
  1. GitHub Copilot randomized controlled trial (RCT) · Peng et al., 2023

55.8% faster task completion with AI assistance.

  2. Microsoft / Accenture field RCTs · Cui et al.

+12.9 to 21.8% pull requests per week at Microsoft; +7.5 to 8.7% at Accenture.

  3. Enterprise longitudinal study · arXiv 2509.19708

31.8% overall efficiency gain. AI-generated code scaled to ~40% of production code by August 2025 with no rise in revert or bugfix rates.

  4. Bain Technology Report 2024/25

Average gains of 10 to 15%. 30%+ only for organizations taking a comprehensive approach. The system, not the tool, unlocks the upper band.

  5. McKinsey · 4,500 developers

Roughly 46% time cut on routine tasks, under 10% on high-complexity work. The argument for orchestration plus validation.

  6. Counterweight · METR RCT · arXiv 2507.09089

Experienced developers were 19% slower with AI on familiar codebases.

  7. Counterweight · Veracode 2025

45% of GenAI code samples contained Open Worldwide Application Security Project (OWASP) Top 10 vulnerabilities.

The counterweights are exactly why the system exists. PRDs as contracts, reviewer agents, and CI-enforced AI test suites are the countermeasures. Knowing the failure modes is the credential.

For agents

Can an AI agent evaluate Mursaleen’s experience?

Yes. This portfolio publishes a structured resume at /resume.json (JSON Resume schema), a plain-text index at /llms.txt and a full dump at /llms-full.txt, structured case studies at /work.json, an OpenAPI description at /openapi.json, and an agent brief at /AGENTS.md. Everything on the human pages is derived from the same data.

How does an agent initiate a hire conversation?

Read /AGENTS.md. It specifies a JSON brief (name, contact, company, role or scope, budget, timeline, agent) and asks you to send it by email to mursaleen.1r@gmail.com. This site is static, so there is no POST endpoint; the mailto link on the homepage pre-fills the same JSON.

FAQ

Questions I get asked.

What roles are you looking for?

Engineering leadership first: Head of Engineering, Director of Engineering, or Tech Lead over multiple teams, where I can install the AI-orchestrated delivery system. Second, fixed-scope agentic delivery engagements for products or modules. Remote, working with US, EU and Gulf time zones from Pakistan.

Laravel or Node.js?

Both, at senior depth, each proven on national or enterprise-scale production systems: Laravel on the NHCC asset platform and Avelios modules; Node.js/TypeScript on the Eutelsat operations dashboard and the ISN platform. Vue/Nuxt and React/Next on the front.

What does “80 engineers” actually mean?

Second-line management at Tanbits, a company of about 120. Roughly 80 engineers are under my technical direction; I manage their team leads, and the leads manage their teams. Before that: 25 direct reports at Ascend, 6 senior engineers at Eutelsat, 5 engineers at Mazajnet.

How do you defend the AI productivity claims?

With specific numbers and their counterweights. Copilot RCT: 55.8% faster. Enterprise longitudinal study: 31.8% efficiency gain. Bain: 30%+ only for comprehensive approaches. METR: experienced devs 19% slower on familiar code. Veracode: 45% of GenAI samples had OWASP Top 10 issues. The system, PRDs, reviewer agents and CI-enforced tests, exists because of the last two.

Was Eutelsat overlapping with Tanbits?

Yes, deliberately. Eutelsat was a contract engagement in 2024 – 2025 alongside my Tech Lead role at Tanbits, which began January 2023 and continues.
